The beneficial effects of berberine in supporting healthy metabolism are in part expressed through stimulation of the AMPK signalling pathway. In the new formula we have upgraded to HIMABERB® Berberine for significantly enhanced bioavailability, replaced Silymarin with Bio-Enhanced® Na-R-Alpha Lipoic Acid - a considerably more potent and versatile antioxidant - and added Biotin to further support energy metabolism and blood sugar regulation. Chromium Picolinate remains in the formula. The result is a more comprehensive, more bioavailable and more powerful formula that covers more ground than the previous version while maintaining the core berberine and chromium benefits our customers know and love.
We recommend taking Berberine+ with or just after a light meal, ideally in the morning with breakfast. Taking it alongside food is important for two reasons - it maximises the blood sugar and metabolic support benefits of berberine and chromium, which work most effectively in the context of eating, and it also helps avoid the mild gastrointestinal discomfort that berberine can occasionally cause when taken on a completely empty stomach. Morning is our preferred timing as it supports your metabolic response at the start of the day, but the most important thing is consistency - taking it at the same time each day will deliver the best results over time.
